OpenClaw Gmail Read-Only

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This policy describes the private, personal-use Gmail integration for the account owner’s OpenClaw Travel Assistant, and this public information website.

1. Gmail access and purpose

The integration requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly using Google OAuth. It can read mailbox information, message headers, message bodies, labels, existing drafts, and attachments as needed. The permission applies to the mailbox, not only to a particular label.

Information is used to answer the owner's requests, summarize relevant messages, organize travel information, compare reservation details, and maintain private notes. The permission does not allow this integration to send mail, create or modify drafts, modify labels, or delete messages.

2. Information stored locally

OAuth client information and saved authorization tokens are held in the owner's local credential storage so the integration can access Gmail after a process restart. These credentials are not part of this public website.

Email information may be retained in assistant conversation history, session records, summaries, travel notes, or other files created for the owner's requests. Attachments can be saved locally when the owner requests a download. Backups made by the owner may also contain these records. This policy does not claim that Gmail information is never stored.

3. AI and messaging services

Relevant email text and information from messages may be sent to the AI service configured by the owner, including OpenAI, to generate answers and summaries. If the owner uses a messaging channel such as Telegram, the content included in assistant responses may be processed and retained by that messaging service.

These services handle submitted information under their applicable terms and the owner's product and account settings. Their retention and other processing may differ from local storage. This policy does not promise that every provider stores no data or that no information leaves the owner's computer.

The integration is intended for personal assistance. It has no advertising, sale-of-data, or general-purpose model-training feature. The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

4. Retention and deletion

No automatic deletion schedule has been established for local assistant records. Local notes, history, downloads, credentials, and backup copies can remain until the owner removes them. Provider-held records are subject to the relevant service's retention controls and policies.

The owner can delete local records and downloads, review provider account controls, or revoke the application's access from Google Account connections. Revoking access prevents future authorized Gmail access, but does not automatically delete records or backups already created.

5. This public website

This website provides static application information and this policy. It contains no sign-in form, Gmail connection, analytics scripts, or advertising trackers, and the pages themselves do not set cookies. Visiting it does not authorize access to a Google account.

The website hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, may process visitor connection information such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages, browser information, and operational logs to serve and protect the site. This processing is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy and the site’s hosting settings. Hosting-service processing is separate from the Gmail integration. Gmail messages, attachments, authorization credentials, and private assistant records are not uploaded as website content.

6. Access and safeguards

The application is intended for the account owner's use. The public website is separate from the private assistant and its credential storage. Access to local records depends on the owner's device and backup protections; this policy does not claim that every local file or backup is encrypted.

Google OAuth permission is read-only for Gmail. Any other assistant integrations have their own permissions and are outside the scope of this Gmail connection.

7. Contact and policy changes

For questions or concerns, contact the application owner through the support email associated with this app in Google's OAuth consent information. This is a personal-use application rather than a public service accepting account registrations.

If data handling changes, this policy will be updated and its revision date changed before the new practice is represented as covered by it.
